Green Ant Inc hosted The Bin Film Festival on the 17,18 & 19 April 2008, to rave reviews. The film screening was a sold out event with 150 people turning out to view 12 of Australia’s Best Short Films and 4 short films created by our very own budding film makers.
Congratulations to all of the students involved you did an amazing job in just 3 days. Sincere thank you’s go out to Jed Cahill the director of the In The In Film Festival, The Innisfail State High School for being so accommodating and allowing us to use their facilities, Richard Graham for his assistance with coordinating the project, Yvonne Herring for her time and support at the Workshops, Anita’s Gifts and the Imperial Tavern for donations towards the Film Screening, all of the volunteers and the Cassowary Coast Regional Council and Queensland Arts for their funding contribution through the Regional Arts Development Fund.
What is InThe Bin?
In The Bin is a Currumbin based festival that travels nationally to more then 60 region and remote towns.
As part of the festival a 3 day educational program is held aimed at offering hands on experience for budding film makers. The workshops are offered to local students.
In The Bin bases itself in the community, offering professional experience, and technology. Participants complete the workshops with their own short films or documentaries to be shown at the film festival screening.
