Queensland's longest running festival of its kind.
The 2008 Innisfail Karnivale recieved great support from the community for the new theme, Art Deco in the Tropics. Twelve businesses dressed up for the Art Deco best-dressed business competition adding atmosphere to the CBD during the Karnivale. The Art Deco fashions on the fields at the Turf Club was supported by local sponsors and race goers and recieved great publicity in the lead up to the event.
Despite bad weather, people came out to support the events and there was interest from regional towns and cities as well as a contingent of international tourists. It is estimated that over 14,000 people attended Karnivale during the two weeks of events.
